About American Homes by Dave Long

After growing up assisting his father and uncles with remodeling, Dave Long served for the United States Army and studied electronics at the Phoenix Institute of Technology in Arizona. He started his own remodeling and light construction company in 1976, calling it "Long Construction."

In 1987, Long met an Amwood regional sales manager. Impressed with the Illinois plant and Wisconsin office, Dave joined Amwood's builder team, giving home buyers the option of an Amwood or stick-built home. With his wife, Cinda, he started American Homes by Dave Long.

American Home Design Center is the sister company of American Homes by Dave Long. It offers design services and products for new home construction, remodels, and every home project in between. Focusing on customer service, we pay careful attention to each detail during every phase of your project, from the drawing board to follow-up service after your remodel or home is complete.

In 2003, the business relocated to the newly renovated Iowa Southern Utilities electric plant building, which provides a spacious display area and storefront for American Homes by Dave Long and American Home Design Center.
